American Streetwise Karate is a local (Pittsburgh) karate school. Before they approached me, they had a Facebook account and an amateur website. Their logo was a patch created at the start of the business. After bringing me onto the team, I wanted to re-brand the school. I created a fresh, new logo, established a Twitter and YouTube account, and expanded their web presence with a new website.
When it comes to establishing your own identity and web presence, it can be a lot harder than working for an actual client. I had to think about how I wanted to represent myself, and what that would look like on the web. Since I like simple design, something that isn't overcrowded, I decided on banners (or ribbons). They provide an efficient way of organizing information and add a sense of dimension to the design.
Tom's Diner is a fictional restaurant. I created a logo and a website for this imaginary place. I wanted the diner to only be open for breakfast and lunch, and to have the feel of an upscale restaurant, but with low prices. I wanted the website to reflect the classy style of the diner. This website is not content-heavy, which was something I wanted to experiment with.
This is a one-page site for a fictional vodka brand. I feel that there are two ways to portray a liquor on a website; either by expressing the party-side of things, or by being smooth and sophisticated. For this brand, I chose to be simple and straight forward. This site is meant to tell you how much care goes into making the vodka, how fine the ingredients are, and the history behind the famous brand.
